This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to weave these Classic Maze Placemats that were designed by Kathleen Monaghan for Handwoven, September October 1998, pp. 45, 74.

Weave these sturdy placemats on any 2 or 4-shaft loom with at least 16 weaving width and 10 dent reed.

Weave Structure: Plain weave with color-and-weave effects

Yarns: 24 7 Cotton in Sky Blue and Black

Note: these towels were originally woven with Cotton Classic yarns.

Equipment needed:  2 or 4-shaft loom, 16 weaving width, 10 dent reed, 2 shuttles

Notions needed: 8 yds double-fold extra-wide black bias tape and black sewing thread (sold separately) or you can make your own bias tape with black fabric.  How To Make Your Own Bias Tape

Finished size:  four placemats 12.5 x 18.5 each.
